Hey all you Lake Superior Mystery readers! This is the new name and format of my newsletter.
I’m sure it’s not the most pressing issue on your minds, but I hope that at least some of you are wondering about the fifth Lake Superior Mystery. The book has a name now, by the way: Superior Subterfuge. It is finished. Really. However, I’m trying to figure out the time and energy to market it properly. I love that I have you loyal readers who will pick it up as soon as it is out. I want more readers like you, so I’m trying to figure out how to maximize the “book launch.” I’ll keep you posted here. There may be ways you can help!
If you don’t mind, I’d like to briefly share some other things I’ve been doing.
Some of you know that I struggle with a particularly challenging kind of chronic pain. My daily battle with pain has led me to some deep and powerful truths, and eventually, I decided I needed to find a way to share those truths. I’m thrilled to announce my new podcast about finding hope even when times are very difficult and wearying. If you are interested, it’s available on a website, and on Apple podcasts, Spotify, and a few other places. It’s entirely free, wherever you listen. New episodes will “drop” weekly. (I feel so cool, talking about ‘dropping’ episodes!)
If you don’t already use a podcast platform, it’s easy to listen to here: Podcast on Anchor
If you like to use Apple Podcasts, here you go.
Here it is on Spotify.
Or, if you prefer, Amazon.
I’ve also finished the first in a new mystery series, set in Nashville, TN. I’m figuring out what to do with it. One possibility is that I release it to you all through this newsletter, in a serialized form.
I’m also working on my memoir of growing up in Papua New Guinea, and then, I keep getting inspiration about a time loop story that seems to want to get written. Since my pain limits how much I can do on a daily basis, everything moves more slowly. But it does move, I promise you.
Now to the Newsletter details. I’ve switched my author newsletter to a platform called Substack. I’m doing so because I think it will allow more interaction between me and all of you, as well as you with each other, if you want it. In fact, if you view this newsletter with your web browser (Chrome, Edge, Safari, etc.) you should be able to comment on it. If it all works as planned, I’ll be able to see your comments. I’ll even try to respond, if possible.
I wish you a joyful summer. Hopefully, you will hear more soon about Superior Subterfuge.
Tom
